Christ Church wants you to feel welcome and encouraged as your family comes to learn together the joy of what it means to be adopted into God’s family. Children and parents are welcome just as they are as we are people who don’t have it all together but we are always being made new through Christ.
New To Christ Church?
There are several ways to experience being in community at Christ Church. Parent Network gatherings, small groups for adults and children, worship, community events, and service to those hurting and lost in Jessamine and Fayette counties and around the world.
Children’s Worship
Sundays – What to Expect: Children are registered for worship before 11 am and then worship with the congregation until it is time for their dismissal for Worship in their children’s space. This worship service is for ages 4 years – 5th grade. There is also worship for two/three year olds. Nursery is provided for children two years and under. The nursery opens at 10:40 a.m.
We also welcome your child in the Worship Center if you prefer, and there is a Parent Break Room, Room 102, to the left of the front doors with a rocking chair, toys, and the worship service on TV. There is another private room for women who wish to use it for nursing or pumping, if needed, with some supplies available there as well, Room 103. Both rooms are directly across from a Family Bathroom.
Intergenerational Sundays

The first Sunday of each month is Intergenerational, where Children’s Worship ages K-5th grade will worship the entire hour with their family in the Worship Center. Preschoolers 2-4 years old can come to worship after singing songs with their family. Make sure to register them before worship. The nursery is always open for Worship at Christ Church.
Children can find worship materials to accompany their time in worship on the bench by the Worship Center. Children’s small group God Journals are available in the crate. If your child has not attended a small group, they are still invited to have a God Journal for their time in Worship.
Communion Sunday (Intergenerational Sunday)
Christ Church has an open table for Communion. We take Communion by intinction, which means a piece of bread is given to you to dip into the Cup when offered. Anyone can come to the Lord’s table. Children are welcome, and if a crumb is dropped or bread is lost in the juice, there is no harm done. Gluten-free and pre-sealed elements are available; simply ask at the Communion Station.
Safety:
Christ Church has a child policy to ensure a safe environment with volunteer training and background checks, along with sign-in/sign-out safety procedures and facility safeguards.

Small Group time is where kids can be themselves and talk and learn about how God is a part of daily life. It’s a time to make lasting friendships that are for the good times and the bad ones. Here, children learn about small group life together and how to become more like Jesus. For grades K-5.

The Parent Network exists to support one another in the job of parenting – regular gatherings, equipping help, and blessings on the journey with God as a family. Need to talk to someone about the job of parenting? Contact Heather Bush, Children & Family Team Leader
